hua pi painted skin, Painted Skin or Hua Pi 2011 episodes 1 to 11

Painted Skin or Hua Pi is a 36 episode serial broadcast on SZTV. It’s loosely based on some of Pu Songling’s classic short stories published in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio or Strange Tales of Liaozhai. It also expands the plot of the film of the same name, adding substantially to the backstories of the characters. Written in the late seventeeth century, Pu Songling’s stories deal with the sometimes complicated relationships between humans and various types of supernatural being. This particular series focuses on a demon who has taken the form of a vixen.

On the run from a forced marriage, Wang Sheng (Ling Xiao Su), a Prince, frees a vixen not knowing this is Xiao Wei (Fiona Sit) a demoness caught in a special trap. He’s kind, binding a wounded paw, and, when she later takes human form, she’s determined to thank her rescuer. The marriage he’s seeking to escape is with a young girl, Pei Rong (Chen Yi Rong). She’s being blackmailed. If she does not marry, the lord will kill everyone in her family. The Prince rescues her and sets her free. Arriving too late to save her is Pang Yong (Li Zong Han) the lifelong friend. Not to worry. He’s a useful man to have around in a fight....READ MORE

amber ann, an xin ya, amber an, 安心亚, amber ann taiwan, Amber Ann as Yao Yao, Amber Anne Love - "Amber's Dream" tops Five Music album sales chart

Otaku goddess Amber Ann topped the Five Music album sales chart on its first week. With a 48-page photo book free with the preorder version, it sure got the otakus rushing to buy the album. However, some netizens suspected Amber’s company of buying the placement on the chart since her album was just released on the 26th; many found it hard to believe that the album would get first place after just one day of sales.

Amber’s record company Wonderful Music emphasized, “We never pay to get first place on the sales charts. We started selling the album a day earlier (25th) at Five Music’s retail locations. Furthermore, instead of charging the regular price of $400 TWD, we sold the album for $299 and it comes with a free poster. It was a great bargain for the fans.”

Ku De Ta - Bali Vs Singapore Miss Universe in Singapore

Ku De Ta - Bali Vs Singapore Miss Universe in Singapore

Ku De Ta Singapore at Marina Bay Sands SkyPark received a glamorous touch yesterday when Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes (picture) and other pageant contestants (inset), past and present, turned up at the club.

When asked about the controversy surrounding her participation in the competition, Ms Lopes answered: 'I think people should respect the decision (of the judges). Only one person out of 89 can be Miss Universe. (Even if) people are not satisfied with the result, they should not say such bad things.'

Ms Lopes added: 'The one important thing I've learnt from the competition is that we have to know who we are and accept who we are ... We can do whatever we want and be whoever we want.'

As for the changes in her life after her win, she said: 'I know some things will have to change but, basically, who I am, my personality, that will never change.' Christopher ToH, Photos by Ernest Chua

Post Sky on 57, the counterparts were keen to check out Ku De Ta. Personally, the interest level was low since Bali was already on the cards and the entrance fee was a killer. (Not so worthwhile, the chiongsters have feedback) Apparently, it goes to the tune of $50 with a drink thrown in. Thankfully, there was a Ladies Night special going on on Wednesdays, free entry with a drink and lucky draw for a bag sponsored by the kind folks at Reebonz!

If you've read so far, no I was not one of the lucky winners of the Miu Miu Metalasse Bag that I'm sure the wardrobe would have made way for despite staying up till past midnight waiting for the precious phonecall.

Complimentary drink of house spirits, wines or beers...I went for white. Too acidic and hard to swallow. Space is hugely limited at KDT, bar notwithstanding...the smoking area is right smack where view is the best - of CBD and all the glittering nightlights. Non-smoking area had infinity pool for compensation but all tables were reserved or occupied, as expected. With house music spinning, the night was closing in on me barely 30 minutes there. Standing around and trying not to get in the way of bartenders is difficult business.

KDT and all the hype? I was already sure that KDT Bali would be tons and miles better.

Cindy Yen “Stupid Fish” Toughens Her Image with New MV

Cindy Yen “Stupid Fish” Toughens Her Image with New MV
Trends Hot Trends

The musically-talented female rookie Cindy Yen, known for her radiant smile and sweet personality, is known more for her instrument-playing abilities and her soaring vocals, but who would have thought that she would also be known for her dance moves? The lyrics to the song itself sings against a shallow guy that toys with her feelings as some dumb fish, most likely refers to the dating analogy of there being plenty fishes (i.e.., guys) in the sea. Cindy furthers the analogy by putting on special “fish-scale make-up” to accentuate her look in parts of the MV, much like a mermaid!

While loving of music, Cindy was also fond of sports and dance, but her protective mother instead enrolled her in piano lessons so that she would not expose herself to intense physical activity. It wasn’t until she attended college at the University of Texas at Austin in the United States did Cindy get exposed to the hip-hop community and learned to mimic the moves of that music genre.

In her recent MV “Stupid Fish 笨魚”, Cindy gets to demonstrate her dancing prowess set to a more rocking song atypical of her previous ballads and softer melodies, and partly shedding her innocent girl image a bit. To further the feel of the song, Cindy’s music label specially invited dance choreographers from the United States and four top-skilled dancers from South Korea to train and practice with Cindy on getting the moves down. Adding to the feel of the song was the set location for the MV, which was partly shot with bright lights and pyrotechnics on location at Taiwan’s Neihu Science Park and its downtown tech buildings. The production values definitely showed, as the MV shoot attracted a huge crowd of passers-by whom wanted to get a look at the singer/dancer.

Cindy Yen to be the next Jolin Tsai Singer-songwriter

Singer-songwriter Cindy Yen, who debuted in 2009, will be coming back with her second album, “2 be Different”, on September 29th. For her first single, “Trap”, she has transcended into a dancing singer, which many netizens joked, “Is Jay Chou trying to make Cindy Yen the next Jolin Tsai?” Regardless, her record company, JVR Music, spent over a million TWD to give “Trap” an extravagant MV treatment, recreating a broadway stage. To support the singer, both Kevin Tsai (host of Kang Xi Lai Le) and her manager made special appearances in the MV. It was Kevin’s first time filming a MV, and he expressed he agreed to take part because he wanted to support singer-songwriters. He praised Cindy on her natural sexiness and said that he anticipates Cindy’s development as a singer.

Cindy, who composed the track, expressed her thanks to Kevin and complimented him as a kind and supportive person. During the shooting, Cindy danced in her heels non-stop; she even scraped her thigh without knowing. In order to not impede progress, she quickly treated her wound and continued.

Valerie Lim crowned as Miss Singapore Universe 2011

Congratulations to Ms Valerie Lim who is now honored as the Miss Singapore Universe 2011! She also wins another title, Miss Body Beautiful. Don't ask me what the assessment questionnaires are like. Heh.Out of curiousity, I went to check the official website for the organiser of Miss Singapore Universe 2011. The website titled, "Derrol Stepenny" (www.derrolstepenny.com). Surprisingly, though, it may not yet be updated. See this curious screenshot? Heh.A bit disappointed that I couldn't find out whether Ms Valerie Lim blogs or not. Anyway, here are what I consider the top 4 photos of hers:

So is it just me or is that true that she looks much more captivating when she doesn't smile? Oh well...Shrugs.
The winner of the Miss Singapore Universe pageant clearly stood out from the rest of the competition. Miss Valerie Lim, 25, is a leggy 1.79m tall. The behavioural therapist was crowned at the Shangri-La Hotel last night. She also won a subsidiary title, Miss Body Beautiful. She will go on to represent Singapore in the Miss Universe 2011 International pageant at Sao Paulo, Brazil in September. Judges told The New Paper they were impressed with Valerie's confidence and wit. She was also articulate and handled the Q & A segment well. Judge Mr Bernard Lim said: "She exuded confidence throughout the night, right up to the question-and-answer segment. You could tell she was comfortable and not nervous." Valerie had previously participated in and also won Miss Earth Singapore in 2009, and said that the experience boosted her confidence on stage.
